Enhancing Public Health Preparedness through Policy and Partnership

2:15 PM - 3:15 PM (EDT), Monday, June 5, 2023 ・ Session Room 209
The COVID-19 and Mpox health emergencies have underscored the need to be prepared to address future public health threats, whether those threats are manmade or naturally occurring. The US and the EU continue to strengthen their preparedness ecosystems, through intergovernmental and industry partnerships, enhancing critical preparedness capabilities. The Administration for Strategic Preparedness and Response (ASPR) leads the US response to public health emergencies, while the Health Emergency and Preparedness Response Authority (HERA) is the central element for EU preparedness and response. This distinguished panel of government leaders will provide a lens into the US and EU priorities for preparedness, the policy ecosystem that can enable enhanced future preparedness and response, the importance of trans-Atlantic cooperation, and how industry may partner with government.
