Angelita Howard

Dr. Angelita P. Howard, a native of Atlanta, GA, holds a Bachelor of Arts in Vocal Performance from Clayton State University. She earned a Master of Science in Educational Leadership from Troy State University and Master of Arts in Teaching from Saint Leo University. She then received a doctorate degree in Education Administration from Nova Southeastern University, a Master of Business in Project Management and Graduate Certificate in Health Informatics. In addition to the scholarly training associated with her degrees, Dr. Howard has engaged in professional development related to online learning, assessment and strategic planning, and student educational enhancement.
Angelita currently serves as Founding Assistant Dean for Online Education and Expanded Program where she is responsible for directing, overseeing, managing and implementing the full range of activities and duties necessary for the operation and ongoing development of online learning initiatives and programs associated with Morehouse School of Medicine. She works closely with Course Directors, Curriculum/ Program Managers, Digital Learning and other college administrative personnel as required for the operation of the online division. In addition, she is responsible for 3rd year clerkship placement in rural areas, along with clinical affiliation expansion. Prior to this, Angelita served as Vice President for Academic Program Development and Institutional Effectiveness and Planning. Dr. Howard has received several awards including: “Best Paper Presentation” Outstanding Facilitator in Online Conference, Innovation Award, invited to be a Harvard-Macy Faculty Facilitator, Woman of the Year Award for Women in Technology, Director of the #1 Master of Science in Biotechnology Program in the United States for two consecutive years, Pinnacle Community Leadership award, to name a few.
