Maia Thrift-Perry’s 12+ years of combined international development, policy and public health experience supports her patient-centric and grassroots approach to improving cancer care globally. As the Global Head of Patient Advocacy and Public Health Policy at BeiGene, Maia leads a team focused on partnering with advocacy and the broader patient community in working toward BeiGene’s mission of delivering innovative therapies to patients worldwide.

Maia Thrift-Perry is Global Head of Patient Advocacy and Public Health Policy at BeiGene where she leads advocacy and the broader patient community engagement worldwide. Previously, Maia was the Regional Lung Cancer Portfolio Commercial Lead for Latin America and Canada at Novartis Oncology, where she managed major drug launches, leading a cross-functional team to ensure consistency and customization of global and country efforts. She also held several roles at Pfizer across multiple disease states focused on market access, corporate affairs, strategy, and marketing. Ms. Thrift-Perry is deeply committed to health equity and ensuring access to quality care for all people.Maia has extensive experience in public affairs launch strategy, external engagement, global policy and advocacy and through her work has developed a deep understanding of unmet needs and the importance of collaboration with patient advocacy organizations and communities. She values strengthening her professional and personal relationships with advocacy group leaders and patient communities and harmonizing the efforts of industry and advocacy to incorporate the patient perspective into all work.

Maia is also an accomplished author who has published more than 10 peer reviewed conference abstracts and journal articles in the fields of epidemiology, public health, and international policy. Maia holds a Master of Public Health in Health Policy & Global Health from Columbia University, a Master of Arts in Women’s Studies and International Health Policy from San Diego State University and a Bachelor of Arts in Religious Studies and Pre-Medicine from Pomona College.
