CLL CAREGIVER/PATIENT ADVOCATE
Susan Bottega is a retired psychiatric nurse with over 20 years experience in adolescent long-term psychiatric treatment. She started her career in oncology nursing and also worked for Catholic Charities caring for developmentally disabled adults many of whom faced cancer or other chronic illnesses. For the past 13 years, Ms. Bottega has served as a caregiver and advocate for her husband who has chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) and other comorbid health conditions. She is a volunteer support group facilitator for the CLL Society where she assists patients and caregivers, in group and individually, as they navigate CLL and its treatment
