Sabine Haubenreisser, Ph.D, MSc

PRINCIPAL SCIENTIFIC ADMINISTRATOR, STAKEHOLDERS AND COMMUNICATIONS DIVISION, EUROPEAN MEDICINES AGENCY (EMA)
Dr Sabine Haubenreisser is a pharmacologist with a special interest in regulatory and scientific cooperation and convergence to the benefit of public health, through engagement with external stakeholders, the European network of experts and international partners and regulators.

She has held various positions at the European Medicines Agency, in the scientific divisions, international affairs and (currently) stakeholders & communication. She served five years as EMA Liaison Official at the US FDA, where she facilitated cooperation between the European Regulatory Network and the FDA. During this time, she oversaw completion of the EU/US Mutual Recognition Agreement on GMP inspections and development of new platforms for cooperation such as on patient engagement, rare diseases, pharmacometrics and sharing experience from EMA’s PRIME scheme and FDA’s Breakthrough Therapy.
Prior to joining the EMA, Sabine Haubenreisser worked in pharmaceutical industry regulatory affairs and as a university lecturer. She holds a Master in Pharmaceutical Science from the Johann Wolfgang Goethe-Universität in Frankfurt am Main, a Ph.D. in Pharmacology from the Pharmakologisches Institut für Naturwissenschaftler in Frankfurt am Main, and a certificate in Epidemiology from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine.
