Dr. Baker is the inventor, co-founder and Chief Technology Officer of Dxcover Ltd and Professor of Early Diagnostics, School of Medicine at the University of Central Lancashire. As CTO, he is responsible the technical research and development, IP portfolio and clinical studies execution and strategy. He is an effective interdisciplinary leader with proven experience in delivering strategic projects within real world impact within government, industry and academia. Prior to spinning out Dxcover from his research laboratory, he was an EPSRC Life Science Interface fellow at the University of Manchester, Robert Koch Institute, Berlin and Harvard Medical School, Boston before returning to the UK to work for the Ministry of Defence and the establishing his academic career at UCLan and Strathclyde. He has been awarded the Top 6 KMPG Best British Tech Pioneers, Fellowship of the Society for Applied Spectroscopy, Top 40 under 40 analytical scientists, the RSC Harrison Meldola Memorial Prize.
