Jim leads Merck Animal Health Global Business Development, which is responsible for driving growth and innovation for our business through external transactions. Transaction types include mergers and acquisitions, licensing deals, collaborations, as well as minority investments through the Merck Animal Health Ventures group.
Jim’s global team is focused on driving sustainable growth that complements the Merck Animal Health portfolio and addresses customer needs. Recent transactions include acquisitions of Antelliq, Vence, IdentiGEN and the SENTINEL line of products in the US.
Jim joined Merck in 1997 and assumed assignments of increased responsibility in Finance and Business Development for the human health side of Merck before beginning his current role in 2012.
Jim holds a BS in accounting and an MBA from The University of Virginia.
