Jasper van Grunsven is the Vice President and General Manager of General Medicine ( in the U S for Amgen Jasper has over 20 years of experience in the biopharmaceutical industry.
Before joining the GMB U Jasper was the founding Vice President of Global Commercial Capabilities responsible for Data Analytics, Digital, Marketing Excellence, Field Excellence Training, Commercial Operations, Patient Support, Devices and Companion Diagnostics Prior to that, he served as the Vice President of Commercial Innovation in the JAPAC region, based in Hong Kong, where he helped drive significant regional revenue growth and played an important role in developing regional strategy, building capabilities, and driving multiple key launches (Repatha and Prolia in China and EVENITY in Japan) He was also the Otezla regional integration lead and helped in setting up the BeiGene partnership in China Before moving to Hong Kong, he was the Global Marketing Lead for Repatha In this capacity he started, developed, and successfully led the global Accelerate program, which resulted in an updated integrated global launch and acceleration strategy for Repatha Jasper joined Amgen in 2013 as Director of Sales Marketing for the Netherlands affiliate He was promoted to General Manager for this affiliate in early 2014 In his role as General Manager, he led the transformation of the affiliate towards an integrated value-driven organization In parallel, he
coordinated the successful reimbursement process and launch efforts for five brands.
Prior to joining Amgen, Jasper worked with Abbott/AbbVie and Nycomed ( in both local Netherlands affiliate and regional European roles Among others he was leading the full integrated Commercial Operations of the Immunology franchise in the Netherlands (Top 5 EU), being part of the EU Immunology brand team He has also been leading an effort at regional European headquarters to develop a new affiliate business model and he led two major integration efforts at both Abbott/AbbVie and Nycomed.
During his time as General Manager for Amgen in the Netherlands, Jasper served as a member of the board for the local Industry Association (Netherlands Association of Innovative Medicines), leading key efforts on Market Access and Regulatory pathways Also, he was an active member of the AmCham board for Pharmaceutical Industry and HollandBIO
Jasper holds a master’s degree in Health Sciences from the Maastricht University in the Netherlands.
