Katherine Ellen Foley is an FDA reporter for POLITICO. Previously, she focused on health and medical research for Quartz, where she was a leading voice during the Covid-19 pandemic, in addition to covering a range of topics including neurodegenerative disease, precision genetic medicine, fertility science and e-cigarettes.

Katherine graduated from Georgetown University’s School of Foreign Service in 2014, and earned her master’s degree in journalism from New York University’s Science, Health, and Environmental Reporting Program. Outside of work, she co-leads the D.C. chapter of November Project, a free fitness community, and is an ultra-marathoner.
