A given of the human experience is that we all go through a crisis, either personal or professional, in our journey of life. During the early part of 2020, I contracted COVID and went through a hell-on-earth journey with ebbs of consciousness to intermittent unconsciousness, confusion, and loss of my identity, memory, and dignity. Going through this crisis helped me empathize with the wide range of permanent disabilities Alzheimer’s disease (AD) patients and their families endure daily as well as the lack of an effective drug to treat, and even prevent, AD. Through this experience, I realized that my purpose in life is to offer relief and hope to people with neurodegenerative diseases like AD, Autism, traumatic brain injury adult macular degeneration and Downs syndrome , which led to the formation of Phanes Biotech.
My background includes graduating as a Gold Medalist in Orthopedics and traumatology and undergoing spine surgery training in the US, UK, and India and finally work as an orthopedic spine surgeon in Dubai for about 15+ years. My motto to “Impact billon lives” made me look at expanding my horizon at larger scale. I completed an MBA from Columbia and London Business School.
