FOUNDER & CEO, PHANES BIOTECH
Newtown Square, Pennsylvania, United States
Life's journey is marked by inevitable crises, and in early 2020, I faced my own when I contracted COVID-19. It was a descent into hell, with consciousness ebbing and flowing, confusion reigning, and a profound loss of identity and dignity. Through this ordeal, empathy bloomed for Alzheimer's disease (AD) patients and their families, grappling with permanent disabilities and a lack of effective treatments. This realization fueled my purpose: to offer relief and hope to those with neurodegenerative diseases, leading to the founding of Phanes Biotech.
My background as a Gold Medalist in Orthopedics, coupled with extensive spine surgery training across the US, UK, and India, provided the foundation. But it was my motto to "Impact billion lives" that spurred me to broaden my horizons. An MBA from Columbia Business School and London Business School, alongside real-world business experience, laid the groundwork.
Phanes Biotech's mission is clear: to develop groundbreaking drugs that restore cognitive function and memory for neurodegenerative disease patients. The name "Phanes," meaning "bring to light" in Greek, symbolizes our vision to illuminate the lives of millions affected. Through innovation and dedication, we aim to bring hope and relief, ushering in a brighter future for all.
