Yuqiang Wang

Prof. Wang Yuqiang is the founder, chairman and CEO of Magpie Pharmaceuticals.He holds a Ph.D. in Medicinal Chemistry from M.D. Anderson and conducted a postdoc at Yale University School of Medicine. Serving as the first dean of the School of Pharmacy at Jinan University and director of the Institute of New Drugs, Prof. Wang is also a visiting Chair Professor at the University of Macau and Adjunct Professor at the Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences & Peking Union Medical College.
With over 30 years of global experience in new drug research, he has published 150+ papers and holds 80+ patents. Notably, he contributed to the development of the blockbuster Alzheimer's drug Memantine, with peak annual sales exceeding $2 billion.
Prof. Wang's entrepreneurial career include roles in InterMune Pharma (acquired by Roche), Absalus (acquired by Teva), and the listing of Adamas Pharma on Nasdaq.
