Patrick Verhoest, PhD

Patrick obtained a B.S. in Chemistry from the Rochester Institute of Technology in 1996 and a Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry in 2001 from the University of Pennsylvania. Since joining Pfizer in 2001, Patrick has led project and organizations in medicinal chemistry including neuroscience, anti-infectives and internal medicine. In anti-infectives, these efforts have led to the discovery of Paxlovid the first Mpro inhibitor for the treatment of COVID-19. Patrick is the author and inventor on over 80 publications and patents.
