MARIA VARELA

Biochemist and Biotechnology posgraduate studies at the Universidad de la República Oriental del Uruguay. First professional experiences took place running basic investigation, whilst keeping active interactions with different laboratories and academic institutions. Growing into the CEO role offered the perfect mix between Biotech Entrepreneurship while staying close to the science taking place at the lab. Took a Business Development and Entrepreneurchip Program at Torcuato Di Tella University (Argentina), which short though intensive, empowered me with the necessary tools to lead the startup. Additionally, The Science and Business of Biotechnology course by MIT, proved to be critical to help me understand and navigate in the biotech business hub.
