Stephanie Marrus, MBA

MANAGING DIRECTOR, ENTREPRENEURSHIP, UNIVERSITY OF CALIFORNIA SAN FRANCISCO (UCSF)
Stephanie Marrus serves as Managing Director, Entrepreneurship at the University of California San Francisco (UCSF). She is a life sciences/healthcare startup expert who is passionate about starting innovative, science and technology-based companies. A former private sector business executive, she brings her commercial perspective to scientific and medical startups. She has expanded her impact through a professional, virtual, global entrepreneurship education program that has reached 27 countries on six continents since 2020. A key participant in the Silicon Valley ecosystem, she has a deep network among life sciences investors, serial entrepreneurs, business executives, consultants, Berkeley and Stanford.
Prior to joining UCSF, she had an extensive business career in the private sector. She held C-suite roles in private, venture-backed entities, public companies and was a business development/strategy consultant.
She has a global footprint through her entrepreneurship program, presentations at White House conferences, for the US State Department’s International Speaker Program and engagements in Europe, Asia and the Middle East.
Achievements include delivering entrepreneurship policy recommendations at the White House and State Department; a recent publication in Nature, Fulbright Scholar semi-finalist, BIO’s Tech Transfer Committee, Advisory Board of a world health organization and NVCA/Berkeley Law’s Independent Director Initiative.
She holds an MBA from the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania, an MA from Columbia University and an AB from Cornell University.
