Theodore (Ted) Lehman

Ted Lehman joined Todd Strategy Group in 2022 as Principal after serving five years as the Chief of Staff to Senator Thom Tillis (R-NC). Prior to joining Senator Tillis in 2017, Lehman served as the Chief Counsel for Nominations and Senior Counsel for the then-Chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee, Senator Chuck Grassley (R-IA). During his time with Senator Grassley, in addition to handling nominations, Lehman’s portfolio included a number of legislative issues, including antitrust and tort reform related matters. Before joining Senator Grassley's staff in 2011, he served as a Counsel on the Judiciary Committee for the former Ranking Member, Senator Jeff Sessions (R-AL).

Lehman is a 2000 graduate of the University of Pennsylvania. He attended Georgetown University Law Center while working for then-Chairman of the Judiciary Committee, Senator Orrin G. Hatch (R-UT). Following law school, Mr. Lehman clerked for then-Chief Judge of the D.C. District Court, the Honorable Thomas F. Hogan. Following his clerkship, Lehman practiced law at Akin Gump Strauss Hauer and Feld, before returning to the Senate in 2009. He resides in Maryland with his wife, Amy, and their four children.
