Micky Adriaansens

MINISTER OF ECONOMIC AFFAIRS AND CLIMATE POLICY, THE NETHERLANDS
Micky Adriaansens, is a Dutch politician, lawyer, and administrator. She currently serves as the Minister of Economic Affairs and Climate Policy in the Fourth Rutte cabinet, a position she has held since January 10, 2022. Adriaansens is a member of the People's Party for Freedom and Democracy (VVD) and previously served as a member of the Senate from 2019 to 2022.
Adriaansens attended the Municipal Gymnasium in Hilversum before pursuing studies in Law, Health Policy, and Management at Erasmus University in Rotterdam. After completing her studies, Adriaansens worked at the law firm AKD, specializing in bankruptcy law. She then transitioned to the role of consultant at Twynstra Gudde from 1999 to 2003. Following this, she embarked on a career in health care administration. In 2016, she returned to Twynstra Gudde and assumed the position of chairwoman of the board of directors. Throughout her career in the private sector, she also held several supervisory directorships.
Transitioning into politics, Adriaansens became a member of the Senate in June 2019. During her tenure in the Senate, she chaired the permanent Committee on Health, Welfare, and Sport.
In January 2022, Adriaansens was appointed as the Minister of Economic Affairs and Climate Policy in the Fourth Rutte cabinet, assuming a crucial role in shaping economic policies and promoting climate-conscious initiatives in the Netherlands.
