Nominations for the George Washington Carver & Rosalind Franklin Awards are Now Open

 

The two prestigious BIO Impact awards celebrate new pioneers in biotechnology and honor those who came before.  Each year these awards for innovation and leadership are presented to individuals who have made a significant contribution to building the biobased economy.  The recipient will accept the award in person at the 2023 Impact Ag & Environment Conference in Raleigh, NC.

Submit a nomination or learn more about each award below. Nominations can be submitted up until Friday, May 26, 2023, at 5:00 PM EST.

The George Washington Carver Award recognizes significant contributions by individuals in the fields of agriculture and environmental biotechnology. This award will emphasize the important goal of using biotech innovation to develop sustainable value-chains and honor George Washington Carver who, pioneered the creation and commercialization of sustainable biobased products and materials and energy.

Rosalind

The Rosalind Franklin Award will be presented to a pioneering woman in the agriculture and environmental biotechnology sectors who has made significant contributions to the advancement of the bioeconomy and biotech innovation. The Rosalind Franklin Award will stand as a lasting memory to the legacy left by Rosalind Franklin, who was instrumental in the discovery of the molecular structure of DNA.
