BIO today presented Rhode Island Governor Gina Raimondo with its 2017 Governor of the Year award in recognition of her leadership and commitment to strengthening the bioscience industry within Rhode Island. Governor Raimondo received the award at the National Governor’s Association Summer Meeting, held at the Providence Convention Center.

Greenwood issued the following statement today regarding passage of the Food and Drug Administration Reauthorization Act (FDARA) by the U.S. House of Representatives:

Washington, D.C. (July 5, 2017) – The Environmental Protection Agency’s proposed Renewable Fuel Standards for 2018 and biomass-based diesel volume for 2019 must be improved to support investment and capacity building for advanced and cellulosic biofuels, the Biotechnology Innovation Organization (BIO) said today.
