James C. Greenwood, President & CEO

James C. Greenwood is President and CEO of the Biotechnology Innovation Organization (BIO) in Washington, D.C. BIO represents 1,000 biotechnology companies, academic institutions, state biotechnology centers, and related organizations across the United States and in more than 30 countries worldwide. BIO members are involved in the research and development of innovative healthcare, agricultural, and industrial & environmental biotechnology products.

Tom DiLenge, President, Advocacy, Law & Public Policy Division

Tom DiLenge became President of BIO’s Advocacy, Law & Public Policy Division in April 2016. Immediately prior to that, he served as BIO's General Counsel and Head of Public Policy since December 2013.

Joanne M. Duncan, President, Membership and Business Operations Division

Joanne Duncan became President of BIO’s Membership and Business Operations Division in April 2016. In this role Joanne oversees the BIO’s membership activities, conferences and events, including the BIO International Convention, the BIO One-on-One Partnering system, BIO’s Business Solutions program, and BIO’s business development activities and administration.

Gary Andres, Senior Executive Vice President, Public Affairs

Gary Andres is Senior Executive Vice President for Public Affairs at BIO. He is responsible for Bio’s State and Federal Government Relations Departments, its Communications Department and its Alliance Development and External Relations Department. Prior to joint Bio, Gary was Majority Staff Director of the House Energy and Commerce Committee from January 2011 until February 2017. He was also the Vice Chairman, Strategic Communications, Polling and Research at Dutko Worldwide from 1993 until 2010, where he oversaw the firm’s work with clients helping to develop and deliver their key messages and advocacy ideas to Capitol Hill and the executive branch.

Dan Durham, Executive Vice President, Health Policy

Dan Durham joined BIO in 2016 as Executive Vice President for Health Policy, bringing 30 years of leadership experience in health policy and regulatory issues. Previously, Dan held leadership positions at America’s Health Insurance Plans (AHIP), where he served as Interim CEO and Executive Vice President for Strategic Initiatives and Policy and Regulatory Affairs.

Brent Erickson , Executive Vice President, Industrial & Environmental

Brent Erickson is executive vice president in charge of the Industrial and Environmental Section at the Biotechnology Innovation Organization (BIO). BIO represents more than 1,200 biotechnology companies, academic institutions, and state biotechnology centers across the United States and in more than 30 other nations.

Cartier Esham, Executive Vice President, Emerging Companies

Cartier Esham serves as Executive Vice President for Emerging Companies at the Biotechnology Innovation Organization (BIO). In this role, Dr. Esham manages and directs BIO’s policy development, advocacy, research and educational initiatives for BIO’s emerging companies, which comprise approximately 90% of BIO’s membership.

Dana O’Brien, Executive Vice President, Food & Agriculture

Dana O’Brien is Executive Vice President for Food and Agriculture and is responsible for the development of public policy and strategic advocacy, public affairs, and legal strategies that advance industry and stakeholder objectives in the United States.

Joseph Damond, Executive Vice President, International Affairs

Joseph Damond is Executive Vice President for International Affairs at the Biotechnology Innovation Organization (BIO), Mr. Damond is responsible for developing and implementing the industry association’s program of international advocacy and outreach, including the areas of trade policy and foreign government relations.

Jeanne Haggerty, Senior Vice President, Federal Government Relations

Jeanne Haggerty joined BIO in September 2006 as Director for Federal Government Relations. Prior to joining BIO, Haggerty served as a Professional Staff Member for the House Committee on Energy and Commerce.

Kay Holcombe, Senior Vice President, Science Policy

Kay Holcombe, Senior Vice President for Science Policy at the Biotechnology Innovation Organization, works with the organization on all major policy initiatives, with a particular focus on regulatory policy. Prior to joining BIO, she was Vice President, FDA Alliances and Federal Agency Relations, at Sanofi and Vice President for Government Relations at Genzyme Corporation.

Ken Lisaius, Senior Vice President, Communications

Ken Lisaius is BIO’s Senior Vice President of Communications. As Senior Vice President, he leads all communications operations for the organization. Prior to joining BIO, he was a senior-level public affairs counselor based in Washington, DC and worked with a diverse set of clients, both domestic and foreign, providing senior counsel and strategic communications advice.

Yvette White-Wiggins, Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer

Yvette White-Wiggins is BIO’s Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer. Yvette joined BIO in 2002 as Accounts Receivable Manager. Throughout her years with BIO, she has been promoted and assumed various responsibilities within the Organization.
