Navigating the Neurodegenerative Diseases Labyrinth: Perspectives from Academia, Biotech, and Pharma

11:00 AM - 12:00 PM (EDT), Wednesday, June 7, 2023 ・ Session Room 209
Identifying effective treatments for neurodegenerative diseases is challenging given that the underlying biological systems are complex, the limited clinical or diagnostic biomarkers, the lack of animal models with established predictive value, and the often lengthy regulatory timelines. Emerging approaches such as gene therapy, RNA, and antisense may provide answers where traditional small molecule approaches have failed. Representatives from academia, biotech, and pharma will discuss their experiences when approaching collaborations, licensing, and partnerships as they look for potential solutions.
