11:00 AM - 11:15 AM (EDT), Tuesday, June 6, 2023 ・ Session Room 102B
The Argentine biotechnology sector, which today is estimated at more than 300 companies and 54 scientific institutions with research capacity in this field, has historically been considered a strategic sector for the country. In Argentina's last two Science, Technology and Innovation (STI) strategic plans, biotechnology was considered a priority sector to promote. In addition, in 2022 the Law on the promotion of modern biotechnology and nanotechnology was extended until 2034.
The growth of biotechnology in Argentina is reflected in the creation of startups, in the recent emergence of 4 accelerators dedicated exclusively to promoting its development, and in the scientific capacities of Argentina. In this presentation, you will be able to know the state of the art and the potential of biotechnology by the vision of the President of the National Agency for the Promotion of Research, Technological Development and Innovation, and the President of the Argentine Chamber of Biotechnology.
