Dr. JS Yum (BS in Microbiology, SNU 1985; PhD in Molecular Biology, Syracuse University 1992) is the CEO of CHA Vaccine Institute since 2014. She has more than 30 years of experience in developing biopharmaceuticals. Her main interest is developing next generation premium vaccines and novel adjuvants.
Starting as a molecular biologist, she joined Mogam Biotechnology Research Institute in 1993, founded by Korean Green Cross. There, she led a Helicobacter pylori team to identify vaccine antigens as well as develop oral adjuvants. She moved to a start-up company as a project director, which is now CHA Vaccine Institute, listed on KOSDAQ market since 2021. Currently, she is organizing clinical trials of CVI’s vaccine projects and expanding CVI’s pipelines to immuno-therapeutics and therapeutic cancer vaccines.
