Daniel Folk, the Director of Impact at BioKansas, leads the strategic direction, design, and delivery of a portfolio of career-related workshops and programs that accelerate career trajectories. He also oversees the BioKansas Community Lab that supports individuals interested in breaking into the scientific workforce through upskilling. These targeted efforts are essential to increasing access for and retention of diverse skilled scientific talent.
He has over eight years of career development experience ranging from career counseling, leading workshops and programs, to employer development and engagement. Daniel gained a Master of Arts in Counseling and Guidance and uses his career development and business development backgrounds to create beneficial opportunities for each constituent he engages with. From developing and delivering programming for individuals and organizations, team building, mentorships strategy, to employer recruitment events, Daniel approaches them all through a lens of equity and inclusion. He is particularly interested in the world of work and the social structures in place for how individuals navigate it.
