Business Critical: Building a State/Regional Advocacy Arm

11:00 AM - 12:00 PM (EDT), Wednesday, June 7, 2023 ・ Session Room 204AB
Legislative advocacy is cornerstone to achieving impactful public policy. Many advocacy efforts are focused on impacting policy at the federal level, but several important public policy decisions are made at the state and local levels, including regulating insurance issues, patient access issues, tax and many others. At the federal level, only a small number of bills pass each year, but state and local bills pass at a faster pace, and they often set the precedent for future federal legislation. This session will explain why it is imperative for healthcare companies to engage state and local public policymakers while highlighting best practices for building an advocacy arm.
