Marc Hymovitz

DIRECTOR OF GOVERNMENT RELATIONS, AMERICAN CANCER SOCIETY CANCER ACTION NETWORK
Marc Hymovitz currently serves as the Massachusetts Director of Government Relations for the American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network (ACS CAN), the nonprofit, nonpartisan advocacy affiliate of the American Cancer Society. He has held this position since January of 2007. He oversees and develops the organization's legislative agenda in Massachusetts, focusing on expanding access to care, tobacco control policies, cancer prevention and detection funding, pain management initiatives, ending racial and ethnic health disparities, and a variety of other health care issues facing residents of the Commonwealth.

Prior to coming to ACS CAN, Marc worked as a lobbyist and federal policy coordinator for the Massachusetts Municipal Association, a non-profit statewide advocacy organization representing the 351 cities and towns in Massachusetts.

Marc has also served as Chief of Staff for the former House Vice-Chairman of the Massachusetts Legislature's Joint Committee on Health Care where he worked on health care related issues including finance and reimbursement, access, and determination of need.

Marc has a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science from the University of Massachusetts at Dartmouth in Dartmouth Massachusetts and a master’s degree in public administration from Suffolk University in Boston Massachusetts.
