Sustainable Innovation: Addressing 21st Century Health Security Threats (DoD/ASPR Engagement Day)

9:00 AM - 12:00 PM (EDT), Monday, June 5, 2023 ・ Session Room 253ABC
The Department of Defense (DoD) is continuously engaging in efforts to protect the warfighter from a broad array of chemical, biological, radiological, and nuclear (CBRN) threats. Similarly, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services seeks to preserve and protect the public health of both American citizens and the world at large. Preparing for and responding to these CBRN threats to warfighter and public health requires key partnerships with industry to develop vaccines, therapeutics, and diagnostics that are designed to meet the needs of both the warfighter and civilians. Many of the investments made through these partnerships also support broader applications of key biotechnologies for other unmet healthcare needs. This DoD/HHS Engagement Day provides an opportunity for BIO members to hear firsthand from senior leaders the priorities and programs within the DoD and HHS, and the ways companies can work with these USG agencies in the biotechnology space.
