Founded in 2003, BioAlps Association empowers the Swiss Health Valley and represents Western Switzerland Life Sciences ecosystem (medtech, biotech, pharma, digital health, nutrition, cosmetics, etc.).
The organisation is supported by 7 cantons: Bern, Fribourg, Vaud, Neuchâtel, Geneva, Valais and Jura, by the Swiss State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO) and by 15 academic institutions.
It offers a dynamic network in medtech, biotech, pharma and digital health, and an innovative and supportive environment. With more than 1 000 companies, 60 Research & Academic institutions, over 60 public institutions and innovation parks, 3 university hospitals, more than 35 000 jobs, the region is the most diversified life sciences ecosystem in Europe. Startup companies and large multinationals are concentrated within a small, attractive geographic area with great infrastructure.
