Michael Edwards

Michael J. Edwards, M.D. is the former Chairman of Surgery for the University of Cincinnati. He is an academic scientist and surgeon with a track record of prolific publication and extramural research funding. Early in his career he completed an executive education program at the Harvard Business School (1997) going on to manage successful businesses in the healthcare industry. He served as principle investigator for several scientific/clinical studies including a nearly 2000 patient multi-institutional phase III clinical trial. For the past eight years Dr. Edwards has worked in research collaboration with Dr. Erich Gulbins in studies of infectious biology. In January, 2019 Dr. Edwards resigned his administrative, educational, and clinical roles to focus on his and Dr. Gulbins research interests. He led the incorporation incorporation of Harbins Ruhr Bioscience, Inc., to translate to clinical application the most promising work of he and his German colleagues.
